A unique experience in historic environments

Tollboden Hotell is a small and very charming hotel by the water in the center of Kragerø. Original floors and walls from 1783 meet exclusive and modern design, creating a unique atmosphere in all our 13 rooms. The buildings are protected by law and were customs offices from 1822 to 1992. The main house was raised in 1783-85, the other buildings were build between then and 1822.

Double rooms

The contrast between the interior and the uneven walls and floors creates a very special atmosphere, both visually and historically. All of the eight double rooms are unique, embossed by our heritage property. We do have a passionate relation to service, our own «pillow- and blanket menu», and we strive to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. Book your memorable stay with us.

Enjoy your stay in one of our five suits in the main house or in the stone house. All our suites do have a fabulous view – to the sea or to our backyard. Let us know your preferences – whether its a spacious living room or a bathtub – and we will recommend the best suite to you. Book your stay or contact us.

Feel at home

A good start into the day is as important as to finish it in harmony. Choose one of our breakfast alternatives with focus on healthy alternatives. In the evenings you can feel at home in our common living room and relax in front of the fireplace.

«The gem among coastal cities»

It was Edvard Munch who called Kragerø for «The gem among coastal cities”. The town with its narrow streets, galleries and good shopping opportunities, really is a charming coast town. Here you can enjoy Southern Norway spirits, view from one of the viewpoints, or just discover the beautiful nature by foot, by bike or boat. Spa and golf at Kragerø Resort is just a 30 minute car ride away. Take the ferry and experience the unique nature with it`s 495 islands, reefs and Scandinavia’s first UNESCO certified geopark. In autumn and winter Kragerø is the place to de-stress, enjoy good food and drinks and maybe go on a cross country ski trip.
